Join the team at a local church

Discipleship year students will have the opportunity to work at a local placement church, with dedicated mentoring as part of their role. You will be fully involved in the life of your placement church, and all the activities they are doing. There is a huge amount going on as we grow together in our discipleship and mission in Tunbridge Wells and so students’ time will be dedicated to enabling this growth to continue. But as well as the hard graft of ministry, there will be an opportunity to grow in specific ministry areas such as worship, youth ministry and local mission.

We are in touch with a number of local partner churches who are looking for students to join them for a year.

A Teaching Hub at Christ Church

Whilst lots can be learned ‘on the job’ it’s important for students to grow in their theological understanding. We are offering a structured training programme that will include:

· 8 hours of teaching each week with fellow trainees
· 2 residential weekends away (October and January)
· An optional mission trip abroad
· Serving on a team at New Wine United

Weekly teaching sessions will take place at Christ Church on Wednesdays (10.30am-4pm) and will be delivered by our team, as well as guest speakers. Topics will include: growing a deep life with God, our identity in Christ, the Kingdom of God & the ministry of Jesus, understanding and applying the Bible today, evangelism, leadership, character development and calling among others!

Some of the weekly teaching sessions will be open days that anyone can attend, click below for more information.
