We would love to invite you to get involved with all that’s going on at Christ Church. We believe God has given all of us gifts and skills to contribute to the life of the Church family and we want to help you find out what those are and to find new ways of worshipping God through serving his people.

All age services team - We love to have regular services at church where we all enjoy worshipping God together and the children and young people don’t go out to their groups. These are a lot of fun and take lots of creative fun to put together. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!

WAYS TO SERVE THROUGHOUT THE WEEK

Sparklers team helper - For babies, pre-school children and their parents or carers. Tuesdays in term time, 9.30-11.30am. We always value more team members for all sorts of things from making teas and coffees for mums, to doing craft with children.

Life group leader - Leading a Life group involves co-ordinating a small group; potentially hosting and leading weekly sessions, or encouraging members of your group to do that.

Community outreach events - At Christ Church, we aim to share the good news of Jesus with the community around us. We put on various events in the cafe space and in the church for people who don’t come to church.

Youth group helpers and leaders - We love to have enthusiastic people to help make our various youth events happen and to encourage our young people.

Occasional events helpers/organisers - We sometimes put on large events for the whole church and you might be brilliant at planning/catering/hosting. Do let us know if you love to get involved with these kinds of events.

Alpha hosting - We love hosting the Alpha course and it’s a great chance to serve - from preparing food, setting up tables, praying during the session, co-leading a discussion group - there are lots of opportunities to serve.

Alpha group leader - A key aspect to Alpha is the group discussion time. These are led by people who are sensitive to hearing everyone’s point of view while firm enough to bring the conversation back on topic should it need it.

Angel meals - We love to bless those who are in particular need (perhaps they’ve been unwell or had a baby) with a rota of people to provide meals for them for a set period of time. If you love to cook, we’d love to include you on our Angel meals rota to be called on from time to time.

Church garden - We have a garden at the back of church (up the steps in the car park) which needs small amounts of regular upkeep. If you’re a keen gardener, you might like to take a look and see if this is something you could help with.

Street pastors - These volunteers go out on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, on a rota basis, to take care of those out on the streets and be a blessing to them in the name of Jesus.

Distributing invites around the parish - We love to let our local community know about events that we have going on and an invitation through the door to our Christmas services, for example, can be a great way to do that.

Missions team - Keeping up our church’s links with those we partner with in mission around the world. A great chance to know what’s going on with missionaries we support and profile them to the rest of the church.

Winter shelter team - We partner with other churches in Tunbridge Wells to provide a night shelter for homeless people in the winter. Volunteers may need to set the church up ready to receive our overnight guests, prepare food or be available to welcome and chat to guests.
